INSTAPOST 2016-001: MeNow Kissproof Lipstick

Lately I’ve been secretly addicted to make up (again), that I’ve been adding to my stash on a weekly basis.  Secretly, because I haven’t been wearing make up on a daily basis – only when I have the time in the morning.  I’ve been finding really great make up and most of them are inexpensive.  Let me start with my favorite lipcolor nowadays – the MeNow PRO Kissproof lipstick.

*Disclaimer: I bought this set with my own money, this is not an advertisement nor a professional review.  I am not a professional make up artist, nor an enthusiast, I am just a make up lover who hopes to help other make up lovers with my finds.

Back to the MeNow PRO Kissproof lipstick.

Fast Facts:
Price: 120Php (Pretty Angel Shoppe in Robinson’s Galleria)
Colors: A wide array, I bought two shades 15 (lighter) and 16 (darker).
Why I Love It: It’s matte, and doesn’t “kiss off” easily.  Also easy to remove if needed.

The Truth:
The darker pink shade stains a little when I drink on a cup or wipe my mouth after eating, but the lighter shade of pink doesn’t.  It stays an entire day on the lips, and I retouch only once a day (after eating).  Another thing to like about this is the ease of removal, I don’t tug on my lips to scrape off the product, all I do is use water and gently rub off the product from my lips.

You can probably find swatches of this brand on online shops (try Shopee!).  I loved this product so much that I ordered 5 more of different shades.  They are nice for everyday use.  The best thing about it, it’s really really really inexpensive.  Will try to post how it looks on my lips soon, so come back and visit!

Enjoy!

TRAVEL LOG 2013 – 2: AMAZING THAILAND!

After 3 months (from my Brunei trip), I was sent abroad again to teach, this time in Assumption University in Bangkok, Thailand.  I was accompanied by Marloun, one of my good friends since college.  This is my second trip to Bangkok, and I was expecting to do a lot of damage to my credit card (for shopping).  However, when we went to the city center on our 5th day, I discovered that I left my cards as well as my shopping money in our hotel.  Therefore, I had to make do with what’s inside my wallet.. Fortunately, I had enough to buy me a handbag as well as some cosmetic bags (hihi).

Good thing we were met by one of our college friends, Louie, who’s currently residing in Bangkok. He knew the city well enough to take us to malls where they sold inexpensive things, as well as help us bargain with the locals.  I had a great time catching up with him even though we spent just a few hours with each other.  It’s nice to know that Bangkok is treating him well. I promised to visit him again so we could go to Phuket. =)

That night, we went to Siam Center, Platinum mall and MBK.

During our stay, we were billeted at Bangkok Interplace Hotel, it is right in front of the Rajamangala Stadium.  (The place was actually crawling with a lot of volleyball players, I guessed there was a tourney at the stadium.)  It is a reasonably – priced hotel that offered fast internet connection for a minimal fee.  The staff were very helpful and the restaurant (SanFran) offered great food!  We later transferred to this cute boutique hotel, also owned by Bangkok Interplace Hotel, @Home Residences.  I like @Home Residences better than Bangkok Interplace Hotel because it was more modern (hihi) and cheaper.

I love Thailand because everywhere I go (well, maybe except this one place), they offered great food!  I can eat  fried rice even if I don’t order anything else.  We were able to eat different types of food, from street food, to restaurant food; seafood, chicken, pork! I love them all!

The first time I went there, I thoroughly loved the massage we got from the hotel spa. This time, I was a little adventurous that I tried to venture into the streets and tried a massage place near the hotel.  The service isn’t as great as the hotel spa, but it was definitely comparable to the spas we have here in the Philippines and it was cheaper too (250 Thailand Baht ~ 350 PhP).

Hopefully, next time I visit Thailand, it won’t be a business trip anymore. I will plan to have a great time, visit the beaches, shop ’til I drop and eat more of Thailand’s local food. =)

Insta-Post 2013 – 002: Gifts from Canada and L.A.

My bestfriend Mina came back last week from a month long stay in Canada and LA.  And when she comes back home, she makes it a point to bring us gifts  (pasalubong as we Filipinos call it) from the place where she came from.  Here are her lovely gifts to me…
20130418-192958.jpgShe gave me: a red Coach wallet, Bath and Body Works hand wash and a keychain from Canada.  Her sister, Ate Nini, gave me an Aeropostale shirt.  I love them all! I love how the red wallet now matches my iPhone and iPad’s leather cover.  And my favorite scent in any Bath and Body Works (as well as Victoria’s Secret) are all related to any apple scent.  Of course, I love the shirt given by Ate Nini, because it is in blue!  And 1 more keychain that I can add to my collection. =)

Thanks sis for the wonderful gifts, ’til your next travel!  =”>

Insta-Post 2013 – 001: Unexpected Inexpensive Finds from the Mall

I went to the mall to look for
comfortable shoes for my training next week. I had no definite budget, but I was planning on buying Crocs, which would mean that the minimum budget would be around 2000PhP. To my surprise, I found these cute and inexpensive shoes that were on SALE! For 399PhP, I can choose any two pairs on the rack. I took the black and gray ones. =”> I know I did well because they are really comfortable too! Tried to walk around the mall wearing them
after paying. Talk about stress-testing. I should have bought two more ~ hmmm..

I had to look around for work pants since I don’t have plans on wearing my cute-sy skirts in Thailand. None of the pants were on sale so I headed out of the department store. As I was passing by the make-up section, I remembered that I needed to replenish my cream blush, I didn’t want to waste anytime so I asked a lovely saleslady if they had what I needed. She showed me the rack where they had my brand but she also showed me another brand, and it was 50% off!

So, for less than 500 PhP, I was able to buy 2 pairs of shoes and a cream
blush.. Thank God I chose to visit the mall today! It was indeed a good shopping day! =”>
